I lived in Ivy Hall from 2019-2022, in both a two bedroom and one bedroom apartment and I feel it was a good first-time home for me. It is walking distance to UD's campus, the office staff are friendly and helpful, and the apartment's themselves are relatively nice. The buildings are older and there are only window AC units, so they are not the highest quality, but for the price compared to other similarly sized apartments in the area, they are definitely worth it! Sometimes the area can be a bit loud because it is near a lot of off campus student housing, but I also always felt safe in the area. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking to live in Newark!
I lived in Ivy for three years. By far the best experience I've had with an apartment complex. Maintenance requests are completed within less than 48 hours. Steve (maintenance manager) is a lifesaver whenever you have an unexpected occurrence. The office staff is very flexible and efficient with handling any and all complaints/issues that come about. I will certainly miss working with their staff!

I loved living at Ivy Hall while I was a University of Delaware student! The complex is next to the train tracks, but is otherwise quiet and peaceful. The ladies at in the office were always incredibly helpful and accommodating and the maintenance team always took care of any issues quickly. It’s also pet friendly, which is a HUGE plus!

i lived at ivy for my senior year at the university of delaware. after coming out of covid, i was excited to get an apartment with one of my closest friends on campus. i lived in a 2 bed 1.5 bath, and it was SO nice. anytime there was any kind of issue, someone from the ivy office would be replying to my communication and fixing the issue with a matter of days. having a dropbox in the mailroom was helpful for tenants who are not always around during office hours. the grounds are always very well maintained including the gym (which is a GREAT feature). i’m going to miss living at ivy, but i am happy that i was able to finish my time out at ud living in such a nice place :) UPDATE: to add to my great experience at ivy, i got my full security deposit back and additional money for moving out a few days early for the next tenants!!! 10/10 experience

I've lived in a lot of apartment complexes but I treated better here than anywhere else. The landlords ACTUALLY care about their tenants. Also, they just installed new washers and dryers and completely redid the laundry facility, and even the internet is much faster than it used to be (we have Verizon now). The 24/7 gym is also an awesome perk. It might be an older complex, but I have so much affection and nostalgia for this place.
